“The following countries are members of the Schengen Agreement: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.A “Schengen visa” is required to visit one or more of these Member States. This visa is valid in all Schengen States for a stay of up to 90 days within a six-month period for a visit, tourism or business, but not for employment or family reunification purposes. Filipino nationals who are ordinary passport holders are required to apply for a Visa to enter the Schengen area.
Filipino official or diplomatic passport holders do not need a visa to travel to Spain. If travelling to other Schengen countries, kindly check with the concerned Consulate if a separate visa from them is needed.
For a visit to one Schengen state, visa applications must be lodged at the Consulate of that particular Member State. If the visit includes more than one destination, visa applications must be lodged at the Consulate of the Member State whose territory constitutes the MAIN destination of the visit(s) in terms of purpose or the length of stay. If the traveller is to stay the same time in different Schengen countries, application must be lodged at the Embassy of the country of first entry.
Visas are not issued on the day of the application. If the applicant submits the documents properly, the visa process takes 3-4 working days. If the applicant does not receive his passport with the visa in the mentioned time (if you expect to receive your passport by courier please be aware that it can take more time), it means that a personal interview is required in the Spanish Consulate from Monday to Thursday at 8.30am.
Note: Applicants with Philippine Passport who have been issued a temporary or permanent resident permit by other countries (i.e, U.S Green Card holder, work permit, student etc.) you must apply in the country where you normally reside most part of the year”.
